Every day I wonder why we need art. Every day I can’t live without it.
I’m a director and writer with a background in architecture, philosophy, and motion design. I started out writing: my debut novel was published by Nijgh & Van Ditmar in 2012, and my short stories have been featured internationally, from HuffPost to The Times of India. One even spent a full day on Reddit’s front page and was shared over a million times.
As a motion designer, my work with Verve Agency and The Stone Twins was awarded three European Design Awards and three D&AD Pencils. Over the years, I’ve shifted from fast-paced commercial content to more reflective storytelling—films, installations, and interactives that deepen the museum experience.
Alongside cultural work, I regularly collaborate with political and activist organizations such as the European Greens, Groen, GroenLinks, Milieudefensie and Greenpeace.
I focus on art history, especially 17th-century Dutch and Flemish painting and early modernism. Lately, I’ve been captivated by Palmyrene funerary reliefs — their relationship to memory, mourning, and the fragility of cultural legacy.
Museums are where I do my best work—my favourite temples.
By introducing people to art, I find my connection to them.
I’m particularly drawn to overlooked narratives, especially those told from queer perspectives. My approach is immersive, my skillset unusually broad, and I only take on projects I can believe in. That’s why clients tend to return.
