I am a writer and director working at the intersection of art history, film, and literary non-fiction. Instead of looking at the grand narratives of history, I focus on the overlooked: forgotten lives, lost journeys, and the fragile afterlives of images.

My path to this work wasn't linear. I started in architecture, philosophy, and motion design—developing projects with studios like Verve Agency and The Stone Twins that earned several European Design Awards and D&AD Pencils. Over time, my focus shifted from fast-paced commercial design toward deeper, more reflective storytelling.

Writing, however, has always been the anchor; my debut novel was published by Nijgh & Van Ditmar in 2012, and my essays have appeared in places like HuffPost, Reddit’s frontpage and The Times of India.

Today, I mostly collaborate with museums, archives, and cultural institutions. I create films, installations, and audio pieces that bring historical material into the present.

Alongside this, I work with political and environmental organisations on issues of collective survival—focusing on the climate crisis and the urgent, non-negotiable defense of LGBTQ+ rights.

A recurring thread in my research is early modern Dutch and Flemish art—specifically how artists and ideas moved across borders. To understand this, I travel, dig into archives, and piece together stories that bridge documentary and essay.

Museums are where I do my best work—my favourite temples.
By introducing people to art, I find my connection to them.
